About us
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” - Margaret Mead
Our Vision

Our Mission
Through voluntary social work, and vigorous fund-raising, we seek to make a better world, by delivering meaningful and sustainable projects in the areas of health, education, income generation, agriculture and community services.

About us
Formed originally as a social club in 1980, with the aim of promoting the exchange of ideas between women of different nationalities living in Ghana, and to learn about one another’s cultures and traditions, GIWC has evolved over the years into a serious philanthropic organisation working tirelessly to help many disadvantaged individuals and communities.
During the past 40+ years, GIWC has quietly undertaken more than 100 capital-intensive projects. Spread across the length and breadth of Ghana, these long-term projects have positively impacted many thousands of people.
The club has also made more than 200 welfare presentations providing short-term immediate relief to institutions and organisations in urgent need of medical supplies, educational materials, recreational items, foodstuffs and clothing.
Who are we, and what do we do?
Currently, GIWC has more than 45 active members, representing 25 nationalities, including Ghana.
Membership is open to all women residing in Ghana, including Ghanaians, who desire to make a difference to those less fortunate than themselves. Each member contributes her talents, experience, time and energy to raise funds and carry out projects that have a lasting impact on the people and communities we help. All members work in a voluntary capacity to promote the aims of the club, and are expected to be actively engaged in the work of at least two committees, and to fully support the fundraising efforts.
